Smithtown Singer/Songwriter Julia Graye announced as semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition


Smithtown, New York – February 19, 2014.  Local singer/songwriter Julia Graye, age 14 and a freshman at Smithtown East High School, was named as a semi-finalist for the prestigious International Songwriting Competition. Her song,Sinister Mister, was selected from over 18,000 entries.  The finalists are expected to be announced within the next several weeks.


“I am extremely honored to have been selected as a semi-finalist in such a prestigious competition”, said Julia Graye.  “I wrote this song last summer while attending the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA) in Manhattan.“


About Julia Graye

Julia is a 14-year old singer/songwriter living in Long Island, NY.   Julia began piano lessons when she was 7 followed by guitar lessons at age 8, which really sparked her passion for singing and songwriting. She wrote her first song at age 10 and continues to write and perform both her originals and her favorite covers.
